Head of the KAUST Entrepreneurship Center,
Gordon is Head of the Entrepreneurship Center in KAUST, which includes the University's startup accelerators, corporate innovation and entrepreneurship teaching & learning programs. Prior to Saudi Arabia, Gordon was the Associate Vice President of Entrepreneurship & Innovation in Arizona State University and Principal Investigator of the Center of Excellence in Technology Transfer, which was funded by the US department of defense. During his time in the United States, his group in ASU was ranked in the top 10 in the US for university incubators according to the UBI Global Index for 2013 and 2014. Gordon also developed several new innovation initiatives for ASU including the Furnace Technology Transfer Accelerator, which won the U.S. award for Most Promising Technology Based Economic Development in 2013.
Previously Gordon was Deputy CEO of the DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship in Ireland and was the founder of the Propeller startup accelerator in 2010. Before the Ryan Academy, he spent several years as Head of the President's Office in Dublin City University and was architect of two of the university's strategic plans. He was a co-founder of two funded start-up companies in Ireland in the late 1990's. He also worked in a number of industry management roles including in Westinghouse and Accenture. Gordon has developed and taught entrepreneurship and management curriculum in a number of colleges and universities and is a mentor to a number of startup companies in Saudi Arabia, the US and Ireland.
